Gossip Vampires: Leighton and Michelle Go Twilight

The Twilight phenomenon is omnipresent — even on the Upper East Side. In this week's issue, In Touch mag chronicles a new wave of vampire-inspired makeup that's sweeping the celeb nation. Call it Cullenitis, if you will. GGers Leighton Meester (Blair) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina) are not immune. Both stars have been spotted channeling their inner vamp with heavy eyeliner, pale skin, and dark lips. But do they look better human, or vampire?
Leighton's "vampire" look consists of way over-the-top purple shadow and super-red lips. Seriously Leighton, you're scaring us. We like you human.
On the other hand, Michelle, with her naturally vampire-like complexion, can actually pull off the Twilight face. Is it too late to try for a role in Eclipse? 'Cause M, you can seriously rock this look. But the "human" look is pretty cute, too! Well done, Michelle. Well done.

Kelly Rutherford spoke to Working Mother Magazine about her divorce, her kids, and how she balances parenthood and her career. One thing that apparently helps? Playing a character she can relate to — glamorous divorcee Lily Van Der Woodsen Bass Humphrey. Try saying that three times fast.
"I’m so glad I’m not playing a frumpy mom," says Kelly. "She’s divorced, raising two kids and trying to make the right decisions. She’s figuring it out as she goes along. It’s inspiring to play a character who doesn’t always have the right reaction. I think the best thing we can do for our kids is to work on ourselves." A very Lily-ish sentiment, if we ever heard one.

Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr says, "Vanessa, shut your mouth." Wow, we thought we were the only ones saying that! Cosmo caught up with Jess this month to ask her about her character's loose tongue, as well as her personal taste in men and her favorite guilty pleasures. The 25-year-old Wisconsin native admits to indulging on large amounts of cheese and ranch dressing — "I'm from Wisconsin," she explains — and shares the best advice she's ever been given: "My grandma said, 'When you get married, make sure that it's your best friend.'" Could current squeeze Ed Westwick be that guy? Only time will tell!

Gossip and Gaga, sitting in a tree. Showrunner Josh Schwartz loved Lady Gaga's guest appearance so much, he wants to write her into the show again.
"Well we got her on the phone. She appeared on 'Gossip Girl.' I actually got to be on the phone with her, which is a great honor and she appeared on the show. She was terrific. I'd call and ask her if she'd come back," he said. Apparently Josh already has a role in mind for her return. "Maybe she can play like Lily's sister, Aunt Carol… Serena's aunt."
Sounds awesome, except isn't Carol supposed to be older than Lily? Gags is only 23. Josh, if you want to get a girl on your show, you maybe shouldn't offer her a role that's twice her actual age. Just sayin'.
